"I got us tickets to an extra special event tonight. It's a 3D screening of our favorite movie, and it's supposed to be amazing."
In that moment, I realized that sometimes, the best stories are the ones that evolve over time, filled with extra special moments that you never saw coming. And for me and Alex, our story was just getting started.
When we got back to our apartment, Alex turned to me with a smile. "You know, I was thinking. Since we enjoyed tonight so much, maybe we should start doing more of these surprise outings for each other."
The second season of our roommate adventures began on a typical Wednesday morning. I woke up to find Alex in the kitchen, attempting to cook something that smelled suspiciously like burnt pancakes.
I nodded in agreement. "I'd like that."
