How much does it cost to replace a windshield?

It depends on the make and model of your vehicle. But a full windshield replacement will likely cost anywhere from $300 – $1800 in Florida. But you don’t have to pay a penny out of pocket if you have comprehensive insurance through your auto insurance company. In Florida, you are allowed many free windshield replacements per year! Consequently, you’re insurance company cannot raise your rates or force you to pay a deductible.

What is the process of a windshield replacement?

First, you will want to contact Bond Auto Glass so we can collect some information about your vehicle. Then we will schedule an appointment to come to your location and replace your windshield.

Here are the steps we take during the windshield replacement process:

Remove the mouldings
Cut out the windshield
Remove any excess Urethane and prepare the pinch weld.
Touch up areas that need primer to prevent future rust.
Apply High-Modulus Urethane (adhesive that BONDS the windshield in place)
Then finally, install new mouldings and reattach the mirror and accessories.

I have a crack in my windshield, do I need to replace it?

Windshield replacement is especially important for the safety of you and your passengers. If you have a crack or chip in your windshield, it’s important to get it replaced as soon as possible. Otherwise, the damage will only get worse over time.

How do I know if I need a new windshield?

According to Glass.com, you should replace your windshield when:

The glass is tempered, not laminated
The crack is longer than one inch
The crack or chip is deep enough that it went more than halfway into the windshield.
The crack or chip extends to the outside edge of the windshield
